AROSE Scholarship Soirée

The AROSE Scholarship Soiree is our annual event celebrating the foundation's accomplishments and influential community leaders who give back to our youth. The Scholarship Soiree serves as a fundraiser for our signature AROSE Scholars Program, which has awarded $170,000 in scholarships to 34 scholars since 2019.

2024 Alicia R. Pruitt Honorees

Portia King is a Chicago-based multi-media personality, host, and moderator. She has collaborated with major outlets like REVOLT TV, Warner Brothers, and the Chicago Bulls. In 2021, she introduced the Gifts for Guardians Toy Drive, supporting parents during the holidays. A proud South Side native and University of Missouri-Columbia alumna, Portia inspires others to embrace individuality and turn struggles into strength.

Cook County Commissioner Tara Stamps is committed to empowering working people and advocating for equity and justice. Born in Cabrini-Green to civil rights icon Marion Stamps, she deeply understands the struggles of working-class communities. A Central State University alumna with two master’s degrees, she has 25 years of teaching experience in Chicago.  

2024 Silent Auction

You don't have to attend the Soiree to make an impact! By bidding on our Silent Auction items, ranging from self-care packages to fine dining and sports experiences, you can help us raise funds for a worthy cause. The auction is open until 5 pm CDT, Sunday, September 15th, and 100% of the proceeds go towards scholarships for the 2025 AROSE Scholars. Every bid counts in helping us empower our youth to build a brighter future.
